Is there any other cost?

Liverpool Tool Library aims to ensure Borrowers can borrow tools that are well maintained, clean and ready to be used on your next projects and many more after that!

Extra cost could occur if Tools are not returned in time, returned unclean or broken.
Late Fees
* You can borrow tools for a week and renew them for an additional week via your account on myTurn if you need a little extra time to finish your job - given that tools borrowed have not been reserved in the meantime.
We all know that sometimes jobs are bigger or longer than expected…

Beyond the two weeks maximum any late tools will build up a late fee that will need to be paid once tools are checked in.

Cleaning Fees
* We ask all Borrowers to bring the tools as clean as they borrowed them to ensure they can go straight back on the shelves for their next Borrow!

If tools are brought back unclean our Tool Librarians may ask you to quickly clean before you leave or charge you a £5 cleaning fee.

Liverpool Tool Library is a small volunteer-led organisation and while our Librarians are happy to care for the tools it is to Borrowers to ensure the tools are brought back as they were lent to them.

Repair Fees
* Our Tools have a story, the majority of them before being on our shelves, and have been busy on your projects!

We acknowledge that sometimes they might stop working or be a bit tired, and our Tool Librarians will look into it and may give it to our Repairers for a maintenance check or repair.

If tools have been damaged or broken due to misuse our Tool Librarians may apply a £5 repair fee and ask you to cover the cost of any replacement bits that is required on top of it.

If you experience any difficulty regarding those extra fees please talk to us and our Tool Librarians will be happy to help.
