We’ve been looking for larger spaces to the support the future of Liverpool Tool Library. So when Edge Hill Library came up for Community Asset Transfer and Use with Liverpool City Council, we decided to apply.
We’re through to stage two, the building needs a lot of work and there’s no guarantee that we would get it but we would love to hear your thoughts and share ours.

In this workshop we’ll guide you through the different types of drill, how to use them safely and when it is best to use them for different applications. You'll get the chance to get hands-on and practise drilling into masonry, wood and drywall.

Pick up a new skill, bring items of clothing you’ve been meaning to repair, learn how to use one of the tool library’s sewing machines, or just join for a cuppa and company while you finally tackle that chore you’ve been putting off.
Sewing kits, a selection of darning materials, fabric scraps, tea and biscuits provided.

How to: Put Up a Shelf

This is a super helpful workshop for you to learn how to put up shelves and fix things to your walls at home!
We'll introduce you to all the tools you'll need to get started, how check it's safe to drill into your wall, and how to make sure your shelf is straight! We'll also explain how to choose the correct wall plug for your project and how to use a drill safely.

In this workshop we will go through the importance of surface preparation, how to choose from all the finish options and the differences between them. We will also go through how apply them, when to wipe, brush or spray.
All participants will get to cut their own oak doorstop and get practical experience of the prep and finish process.
